COVID-19: pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding
The Italian scientific community of neonatologists, paediatricians, gynaecologists, obstetricians and midwives (SIN, SIMP, SIP, ACP, SIGO, AOGOI, AGUI, SIAARTI and FNOPO) has joined the working group created by the ISS, and coordinated by its National Centre for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (Centro Nazionale di Prevenzione delle Malattie e di Promozione della Salute - CNaPPS), which is tasked with reviewing and disseminating scientific literature updates on COVID-19 in pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. The objective is to provide clinical practice guidance for health professionals caring for pregnant women and assisting in childbirth throughout the country. The updates are published on the EpiCentro website of the ISS. The CNaPPS is responsible for querying PubMed, Scopus, Embase and CINAHL databases for available literature on studies of any design and published in any language since January 2000. It is also responsible for finding and reviewing literature and documents on COVID-19 in pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium produced by international government agencies and specialist scientific societies.
