Health4EUKids – WP4: the capaciy building programme
Best Practices in action: how to transfer, implement, and sustain effective health promotion interventions for children (0-12 anni)
As part of Work Package 4 (wp4) of the Joint Action Health4EUkids (JA), which focuses on health promotion and the prevention of childhood obesity, a modular capacity-building programme has been developed. This programme, freely accessible on this page, aims to share results, tools, and actions that support the transferability, sustainability, and scalability of the best practices Grünau Moves and Smart Family across various European contexts, within a public health perspective. The programme has been coordinated by WP4, with the involvement of all Member States participating in the JA, who contributed by sharing their experiences within the project framework.
MODULE 1 – Transferability and sustainability of Best Practices in health promotion and childhood obesity prevention
This module cover the key concepts of transferability, sustainability, and scalability in the context of health promotion and childhood obesity prevention. It also present the context analyses carried out as part of the WP4 “Transferability and Sustainability” activities of the JA Health4EUkids, expert insights on the topic, and experiences from other Joint Actions and European projects.
MODULE 2 – Grünau Moves: a Best Practice to promote health and prevent obesity in children
This module present the best practice Grünau Moves, highlighting its contribution to the design and implementation of effective interventions for health promotion and the prevention of childhood obesity, following a public health approach. Through the narrative of activities and actions developed by the participants of the JA, the key stakeholders to be involved at different implementation levels (national, regional, and local) are described, along with the obstacles, enabling factors, and recommendations for local implementation. The module will emphasize the essential elements for ensuring the transferability and sustainability of the intervention. Module 2 will be available soon.
MODULE 3 – Smart Family: a Best Practice to support and empower families in promoting well-being and healthy lifestyle
This module present the best practice Smart Family, highlighting its contribution to the development of effective interventions for health promotion and the prevention of childhood obesity, based on a public health approach. The module cover implementation strategies, an analysis of the enabling factors and challenges encountered during pilot experiences in various Member States, approaches to support local implementation, and the key elements that make Smart Family a transferable and sustainable practice across different contexts. Module 3 will be available soon.
